On Saturday, Billionaire Jaswant Sigh Rai was reported missing at Kilimani police station. Armed men abducts him at the intersection of Wood Avenue and Lenana Road in broad daylight. After several days, they released him from the captivity.
His lawyer, Kioko Kilukumi, reported that the kidnapper released the Billionaire Rai on Friday.
On Friday evening at round 5:30 p.m. The CCTV captures a Toyota Landcruiser V8 moving a long Wood Avenue. Merely 10 seconds later, a double cab pick-up speed up, overtook, and the blocked the Toyota Landcruiser at the junction of the Wood Avenue and Lenana Road.
Three men armed with guns exited the vehicle and promptly approached the driver’s door.
They forcibly opened the door, pulled out the solitary driver from the car, and forcefully loaded him into their vehicle before swiftly driving away. The abandoned car stayed at the scene, while other drivers could be observed overtaking it.
Subsequent investigation disclosed that the abducted person was businessman Jaswant Rai. The Chairman of the Rai Group of Companies, which owns West Kenya Sugar Company.
Kilimani Sub-County Police Commander, Moss Ndiwa, confirm that his officers received a report of an abandoned vehicle on the road, more than an hour after the abduction. They then towed the vehicle to the station.

Ndiwa also confirmed that a family member of Rai file a missing person report at the station on Saturday. One day after Billionaire abducted. Dectectives at the station are actively looking into this case.
The police commander, also dimssied suggestions that police were involved in the kidnapping.
Just a month earlier, authorities arrested the Billionaire upon his return to the country from abroad. They questioned him on suspicison of sabotaging the revival of Mumias Sugar Company. This recent incident follows closely after that event.
The matter is currently under court proceedings.
During a Sunday tour of Bungoma County, President William Ruto connected the Billionaire Rai to a group of cartels. He accused these cartels of obstructing the government’s industry reforms plans and declared his intent to directly confront them
“Kwa hivyo msikue na wasiwasi niko hapo chonjo kabisa. Nitahakikisha hii kitu inakaa chonjo na wakora wote hapo katikati miskikue na wasiwasi. Kuna mtu atakuja kutuongelesha kiingereza hapa sijui mhindi fulani sijui ni nani, mwengine ananiambie Rai. Rai ni nani hapana hiyo haiwezekani hiyo. No hii ni mali ya wanainchi na hatuezi kukubali mtu ambaye ata take advantage of the people in this region,” President Ruto said.
The President’s comments have sparked inquiries into whether state agents were implicated in the bussinessman’s kidnapping.
