Former US President Trump Arrested In Election Case, Mug Shot Made Public

On Thursday, US President Donald Trump arrested at a jail in Georgia. They accused him of racketeering and conspiracy. After that, President was released after paying $200,000 and they took a picture of him, which is a moment in history to him and the continent.

Former President Trump, who is said to have worked with 18 others try to change the 2020 election outcome. The Southern State, was in Atlanta’s Fulton County Jail for under 30 minutes. Then, he left in a motorcade for the airport.

Similar to the other people who were involve in the case have turned themselves in, the 77 year old Former President Trump. They had his photo taken when he was being booked. This is the first time in history, that has happened with the current or the former US president.

Speaking to reporters after his arrest, Trump, the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, said it was a ” very sad day for America.”

“What has taken place here is a travesty of justice,” he said.” I did nothing wrong.”

Trump posted the mug shot on his own Truth Social platform with the caption “Election Interference” and a link to his campaign website.

A little while later, he put it up on X, which used to be called Twitter. He liked using Twitter a lot, but he got kicked out of it later after his supporters caused trouble at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Elon Musk, the new owner, brought back Trump on X in November of last year. However, Trump didn’t really use it and decide to post on the Truth Social instead. This was his first post on what used to be called Twitter since 2021.

The Fulton County Jail assigned Trump the inmate number “P01135809”. They listed his height as six feet three inches (1.9 Meters), his weight as 215 pounds (97 kgs) and his hair color as “Blod or Strawberry.”

Since April, the billionaire has faced criminal charges in the Four separate occasions. This has set the stage for a year filled with unusual drama as he attempts to manage numerous court appearances alongside another White House campaign.

Trump manage to avoid having his picture taken during his previous arrest earlier this year. He was arrested in New York for allegedly paying hush money to a porn star, in Florida for mishandling confidential government documents, and in Washington for charges related to plotting against his 2020 election loss to Democrat Joel Biden.

His arrest occurred just one day after Trump declined to participate in a televised debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This debate featured eight of his competitors for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. However, all of them are trailing far behind him in the polls.

However, he manage to attract attention nonetheless. Almost all of the candidates, except for two, state that they would back him as the party’s nominee even if he were found guilty of a crime.

Trump’s booking in Futon County jail had a strong security due to ongoing investigation about inmate deaths and poor condition. District Attorney Fani Willis gave Trump and 18 other until Friday noon to surrender in a racketeering case, Trump and 11 others complied.

Ex-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows surrendered and got released on $100,000 bond. Trump’s ex-lawyer Rudy Giulian, involve in false election claims, was booked and released. Supporters gathered around the jail, with some staying overnight. Trump’s trial, starting January 2024, involves overturning past election using lies and Capitol attack. Trump’s lawyer want a later start in April 2026. Willis earlier suggested March for the racketeering case, but later proposed October, facing opposition from Trump’s legal team.
